2. Pell-eligible.
3. A US citizen, national, or permanent resident.
4. In good academic standing with a minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
Also, a student must plan to enroll full-time, in a four-year degree program, at a US-approved, not-for-profit, private or public college or university.
You need tribe enrollment if you’re American Indian/Alaska Native.
How Difficult is it to Obtain the Gates Scholarship?
The path to becoming one of just 300 yearly Gates Scholarship winners is not an easy one.
Gates Scholarship awardees all face the Gates Scholarship acceptance rate.
In fact, over 34,000 Gates Scholarship applicants apply each year. This makes the Gates Scholarship acceptance rate less than 1%.
