This WBMDFC Scholarship is for students who cannot continue their studies because of the high cost of college and university tuition.
Different types of scholarships are available through the West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation.
These scholarships are for West Bengal students who are both academically and financially disadvantaged.
The West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (WBMDFC) offers various kinds of scholarship, which are-
1. Pre-matric Scholarship.
2. Post-matric Scholarship.
3. Merit– cum– Means Scholarship.
4. Talent Support stipend.
5. Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship.
WBMDFC Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for different types of scholarship schemes are given below:-
Pre-matric Scholarship:
1. The applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal.
2. Students from Class-I to Class-X can apply for this scholarship.
3. The applicant must study in a School/ Institution within the West Bengal state recognized by the state or central government.
4. Applicants have to secure over 50% marks or equivalent grades in the previous final examination.
5. The annual family income should not exceed Rs.2 lakh.
Post-matric Scholarship
1. The applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal.
2. Minority Students, who are currently studying from Class-XI to Ph.D. courses, are eligible to apply.
3. The applicant must study in a School/ Institution within the West Bengal state recognized by the state or central government.
4. Applicants have to secure over 50% marks or equivalent grades in the previous final examination.
5. The annual family income should not exceed Rs.2 lakh.
Merit Cum- Means Scholarships
1. The applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal.
2. The applicant has to get admission in a technical/professional course (Engineering, Medical, Management, Law, CA, etc.).
3. Applicants have to secure over 50% marks in the last Higher Secondary/ Graduation examination.
4. The annual family income of the student should not be more than Rs.2.5 lakh.
5. Students who are residents of West Bengal but pursuing studies in listed institutions located outside West Bengal are also eligible for applying.
Talent Support Stipend
1. The applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal.
2. Applicants have to get admission to a technical/professional course.
3. The applicant has to secure over 50% marks in the last Higher Secondary/ Graduation examination.
4. The annual family income of the student should not be more than Rs.2.5 lakh.
5. Students who are residents of West Bengal but pursuing studies in listed institutions located outside West Bengal are also eligible for applying.
Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship
1. The applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal.
2. The applicant must be a student of Class–XI or XII.
3. Or the applicant must be under the Graduate level in Engineering, Medical, and Technical / Professional courses. Besides Undergraduate, Post Graduate level students pursuing General Degree courses, are also eligible.
4. Students pursuing M. Phil courses and Doctoral courses from State-aided Institutions are eligible.
5. The family income should not exceed Rs.2,50,000/- per annum.
WBMDFC Scholarship Rewards
Pre-matric Scholarship
1. Class 1 to 5–INR 1,100 per annum.
2. Class 6 to 10–INR 5,500 to INR 1,1000 per annum for day scholars and hostelers, respectively.
Post-matric Scholarship
1. Class 11 and 12–INR 10,200 to INR 11,900 per annum for day scholars and hostelers, respectively.
2. Class 11 and 12 (Technical & Vocational Course)–INR 13,500 to INR 15,200 per annum for day scholars and hostelers, respectively.
3. Undergraduate & Postgraduate–INR 6,600 to INR 9,600 per annum for day scholars and hostelers, respectively.
4. Phil & Medical–INR 9,300 to INR 16,500 per annum for day scholars and hostelers, respectively.
Merit Cum- Means Scholarships
Medical Engineering, Management, Law, CA, etc. courses–INR 27,500 to INR 33,000 per annum for day scholars and hostelers, respectively.
Talent Support stipend
INR 2,500 to INR 4,900 per annum for day scholars and hostelers, respectively.
Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship
INR 12,000 to INR 60,000 per annum for day scholars and hostelers, respectively.
WBMDFC Scholarship Application Process
1. After the check, all the eligible applicants can apply online through the official website. Follow the steps below-

3. After that Click on the “New Registration” option select your district and click “OK”.
4. Thereafter Enter the asked details Carefully in the registration form.
5. Next Upload the documents.
6. At last, submit the application form by clicking on “Submit”.
7. Take a printout for further reference.

3. Proof certificate of birth.
4. Copy of Aadhaar card.
5. Copy of the Previous qualification mark sheet.

WBMDFC Scholarship Selection Procedure
They will provide scholarships to eligible students in order of merit and subject to the budgetary allocation provided by the State Government.
Procedure to Track Application Status
1. Visit the official website.
2. Click on the “Track an application” option from the menu bar.
3. Select your district and enter your application ID and date of birth.
4. Enter the captcha code that appears on the screen.
5. Click on the “search” option.
